M.D.'s WARNING—

Beware of Store-Bought Olive Oil

—By Dr. Joe W. Frazer III, M.D.

It pains me to write a warning like this because I love olive oil. It’s one of the most nutritious and flavorful super foods that Mother Nature has ever blessed us with.
Studies have shown that this liquid gold helps you avoid heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain cancers. It eases inflammation, is a godsend for achy joints, and lowers blood pressure and bad (LDL) cholesterol. Recent research also tells us that olive oil even helps you lose weight by revving up your metabolism by 60%.
The fact is that olive oil from Europe is known to contain vegetable oil and other oils as well so who do you buy, well California Olive Farms is a great oil I buy it a lot and currently I have 3 bottles in my pantry along with organic coconut oil and Avocado Oil, stay away from Corn oil, Vegetable oil, canola oil and saffola oil..

Yet Despite All This, I Must Warn You of Something Despicable Being Done to the Olive Oils Sold in Your Local Stores, Including Famous Brands

As documented by several of America's most respected media, many if not most of the olive oils in your local supermarket and gourmet store are fraudulent, adulterated, mislabeled, stale, or even rancid. If you buy these oils, you’re getting ripped off and, even worse, you and your family are missing out on the many health benefits of authentic extra virgin olive oil.
As revealed in The New York Times, "50 percent of the olive oil sold in America is, to some degree, fraudulent." This includes many well-known and expensive brands.
NBC News reports that “fake olive oil is rampant.”
CBS News adds: “Consumers who think they're buying one of the healthiest foods on the planet often get something very different.”
“American grocery stores are awash in cheap, fake ‘extra virgins,’” confirms The Wall Street Journal.
A feature story on ABC’s Good Morning America was headlined, “Olive Oil Fraud Rampant.”
Forbes magazine warns: "Here's the hard truth: the olive oil in your pantry, the one you bought for its health benefits and for some sliver of the seductive Mediterranean lifestyle, is most likely a scam."
You can Google these quotes to check my sources, and you’ll see that every quote I cite above is accurate.

Why Is This Happening?

With so many recent studies touting the health benefits of olive oil, sales are soaring worldwide. Big money is involved, triggering widespread counterfeiting, dilution, and fraud among unscrupulous foreign producers who supply the mass market importers.
